Hard Rock Cafe We had dinner at
Hard Rock Cafe to celebrate Gigi's (one of the adoptive mothers)
birthday. Kids enjoyed a good "American food".
We also had an opportunate to meet Sue's best friend from college, Bai
Yan. They have not seen each other for 16 years. They had alot to catch
up.
While waiting for Anna's visa, we together with a few other families
ventured out of the Island to a local shopping street. We bought a few
small things. The experience was interesting. On the way back, we had
Thai food. It was great. Sue wished her friends at Gentex were with her.
We were so stuffed that we did not eat anything at our celebration
dinner at Lucy's bar after receiving Anna's visa later. We had just
beer. Believe it or not, they provide kid high chairs in bars in China!
and the beers are good!
A few fathers went out having their celebration cigars. Berthold wore
his traditional chinese dress and smoked a cigar. Sue said that he
looked like one of the rich chinese old landlords or a business man.
Toby and Joshua were very proud to wear their chinese ropes and hats
with a fake long hair braids. We wore traditional chinese dresses for a
few hour wondering around in the hotel.
Anna is making so much progress. She graduated from her bottle today and
started to use her zipping cup. She can wave bye-bye, clap her hands and
offer kisses on commands. She enjoys walking around. She is a very happy
baby and very content. She eats and sleeps well. Oh, maybe not. We just
check on her, she is smiling at us instead of sleeping in her crib. She
likes to play at night, just like everyone of Franz family!
This will be our last email from China. We will be in Hongkong only one
day tomorrow and will not plan to set up email. We will be home soon!
